Thing #3

When I start teaching I would like to use a classroom blog as a tool to communicated with my classes, parents and for students to communicate with each other. Students would not question  what is expected on homework or test because it is right there. I would post images useful to the lesson or unit being taught. The students will have a valuable resource available to them at any time and they would know what is going to happen in the next class session.

I decided on my posting because it was available and simple to remember and as far as my blog name I wanted to use a name that I could distinguish from my other blog. I have another blog because I have taking 3040 once before so creating another blog wasn't difficult at all. My avatar fits my personality because that is my ultimate goal is to be a teacher in front of a room of 20 to 30 students teaching about art and its history.

Thing #1
The easiest of the seven and a half habits of a life long learner would be habit number four, having confidence in myself as a competent and effective learner. Confidence I have, but the hardest habit would be number six, using technology to my advantage. This is my second time taking educational technology and I left that class unsure of a few lessons such as mail merge and excel. I  am a non-traditional student and when I was in high school we didn't have computers. In fact, my first experience with a computer was when I started Austin Peay three years ago. My goal is when I leave this class is to have a more knowledgeable understanding of my computer and all that the Internet and various programs have to offer.
